Lights might have gone out at theatres across the country, but West Bridgford Dramatic Society is finding a new way to keep drama going and its vibrant community connected.
“We’ve always had a Tuesday night meeting,” explains Society chair Andy Bakewell. “We’ve simply taken it online and are finding that attendance is up.
So while our theatre doors might not be open, the Society is, and is open to new people joining us as well.”
So far, the Society has gathered to read plays, discuss the National Theatre’s Frankenstein, take part in ever popular quizzes and simply chat. Future Tuesday evenings include a variety show on May 12th, a games night and more play readings.
Visit WBDS’ Facebook page for details of the next couple of weeks’ activities, the website for the full programme until the end of July or email the Society.
