An evening of one act plays
Dates 9-11 July 2026 7.30pm and 2.30 Sat Matinee
Summary
Each year, the society schedules a week of one act plays. Last year our theme was ghostly trains. This summer we are delighted to bring you a selection of four short plays for your entertainment, featuring a diverse collection of plays.
Some new, some old.
In "Only the Barmaid" , a young woman becomes concerned when an ex boyfriend starts stalking her at work and beyond. Something needs to be done...
In "Cicadas", the comfortable life of a middle aged couple is turned upside down by a simple short phone call. Who will win, when love fights obligations?
In "Unspoken Words", a daughter returns home after a long absence. What she has to say is not well received. What her mother has to say in return is perhaps even more of a shock...
In “The Cagebirds”, six people live in a locked room, absorbed in their own interests. Their world is disrupted when their “Mistress” brings in a Wild One, who speaks of freedom.
